BEFORE THE FLOW

Before the flow is an artwork that expresses the calm before the storm, the acceptance of life's natural cycles. Calm is often followed by an event that comes along and shakes our foundations, what we take for granted. It's an encouragement to resilience, because nature, strong and patient, always survives. These cycles bring transformation and evolution. In this work, the great wave washes away, but then allows nature to regenerate in the future.

This artwork was created in 2024 from a photo-projection made with photographs of trees in Lompoul and the sea of Mbour, Senegal, Africa.
